We've been slowly working to restart our weekly community dinners with our FRC guests and supporters! Last month, volunteers Barbara, Steve, and Brenda cooked, delivered, and joined us for a delicious meal that surprised everyone. We shared chicken and CARROT quesadillas complete with avocado cream sauce, fruit salsa, and a chipotle ranch salad. As if this meal wasn't impressive enough, Steve and Barbara once again outdid themselves and treated the house to their homemade raspberry chocolate ice cream. This meal, and its hidden vegetables, was delicious...but the best part was the company.
Seasoned and new guests swapped favorite memories about their stays at the FRC house, made plans to bring back our weekend card nights, and lamented over the struggles that both they and their loved ones who are incarcerated endure. This evening once again reminded me of the importance of breaking bread with others, and absolute privilege it is to play a small role in supporting this house and community. – India Pungarcher, FRC House Manager
